i usualy get my hair cut in the grafton barber, they do a prety good cut for €15.

there's a peter mark on my way to work, so i thought, i might be handy to get it cut there, i work in donnybrook, so would save me going into town.

so anyway, i go into them this morning, and ask them how much a cut was, €27.50! WTF, it's not like i'm getting any lady stuff done to my hair, just want a propper man's cut.

    fcuk peter mark.

so lads, i'm lookin to try somwhere else out for a cut, just a decent dry cut is all, no metrosexual crap.

i'd do a search, but it's down..... there have been posts about this before, somone recomeded somwhere off grafton street.....

anyway, any suggestions would be appriciated.

nothing over €20, that's just takin the pisss

Most local barbers charge around €10 - €12 for a dry cut.
Isnt there any in Donnybrook? Cant see anything wrong if your just looking for a basic cut.
Which way do you go to work? (approach from town?).
If you're in town, I know the Merchant Barbers (just on the square near the walkway through the Ha'penny bridge) always gets a good write up. Not sure on their prices though.

The Waldorf on Westmoreland street. Get one of the Pakistani guys to cut it. Or the the woman with the long brown curly hair - she only works saturdays though. They are 1st class, have yet to get a better haircut anywhere else. A dry cut is E16.

Apparently the price in Peter Marks is for a "cut & restyle" as opposed to getting the same haircut you've been getting for years which is what you'll get in most places. Though I got a restyling from one of the guys in the Grafton barbers before, was pretty cool.

iirc the merchant barber is €16 for a cut. Get it done by the rockabilly guy (all quiffed up- think he's the boss) or there's a red haired stupid haircut guy thats really really good as well.

I hate that at the back but its just a matter of asking them to taper it at the back when they show you it and they do it in a sec no problem. Anyone ever try that place downstairs in brown thomas. Id like to give it a go but im always afraid they would finish the haircut and say "okay that'll be 60 euro" :D Also it seems to be older men who mostly to go there. Anyone tired it?

didn't get a chance to ask her, she just went ahead and did it! she could see i wasn't impressed.

anyway, went to green dolphen barber, happy enough with the cut, might head back.

restyling? as in the poncy boyband look?

The one I got was pretty decent. Didn't radically change anything, but made it a hell of a lot easier to put gel in and stuff. Felt like my hair would fall into place as opposed to spending ages fiddling with it only to find I'd used half a tube of gel and my hair was now a greasy mess.

I can't vouch for Peter Marks at all because I've never been there, but I know people who've gone to good stylists and their hair didn't look poncy at all. And it's certainly great to just ask for a haircut and leave the expert to sort out the details as opposed to you telling them :)

I've got their card in my wallet, they are sound as your ould on in their. Deffo support them.

I was in town one day and these two birds come up to me and as if i want y hair cut for free, so suspiciously i say, where? they say peter marks then say cool, turns out it's the peter marks academy. They were students. They did a grand job also they like wash ur hair and all, so it's cool. just go in their one day and ask if they need any models, and if they don't they'll still cut ur hair at a huge discount.

I have to agree . Went there after reading review here and got the best haircut i had in years. I’ve been there twice now so the good cut wasn’t just once off event. Excellent service and very good value.
