Southcourt last night (contains BB)

Congrats to Bigdragon on getting 4th last night in the southcourt. I busted just before it went to 2 tables which was about as far as I could get considering what the dealer was throwing me. From what I saw the player that had a big chiplead when it got to heads up seemed very solid but I didn't see the outcome.

I played a crazy €50 SnG afterwards. On level 2 50-100 I picked up Aces on the Button and I had just over 3000 in chips. UTG raised to 300 and got 3 callers. I don't know why I didn't push, but I decided to raise to 1500 and I got 3 CALLERS!! They all had more than 50% of their stack in the middle. Flop was 789 with 2 clubs. Ugh! All checked to me and I went all in and got 3 CALLERS!!! WTF? UTG had AJ, MP had QQ (huh?) and another had AK suited (spades)

So the dealer tried to sort out the sidepots and I'm certain she didn't work it out correctly because apparrantly I managed to cover all 3 players and have 1200 left. :D I did say this to her but since I had no idea how much some players had put in for there was no way of working it out. Anyway Queen hits the river and Ass-clown #2 busts 2 players and cripples me because the blinds just go up to 100/200. I some how still managed to get 2nd.

When it was down to 3 at blinds 1K/2K the same player that 2 outered me folded in the BB when I button raised and he had only 375 chips left. :D He also folded AK when I pushed with AQ and said "If I had pockets I'd call you" :o but called with 77 when I puished with AK and lost. The standard in Limerick is so bad!

One thing i didn't like is that players could join for a hour and a half after it started. I know it was kinda a poor turnout at 55ppl at 8 but this was 73 at half 9.

One guy got moved to a table of new players with full stacks. You might say it was a advantage and he could have doubled by this stage.

I know they want to cover costs and stuff but........

Some people seemed to think it started at 9. I don't really have a problem with it. They are at a disadvantage starting late and it puts more money in the prizepool. If they join after a lot people have been knocked out though, then its bad form.

At any well run re-buy event a player is allowed enter during the re-buy period.
This is a advantage, not to the late comer, but to the existing entries, as the average chip stack is larger than the starting chip stack. It is for this reason we close off entries after level 4 (1hour 20min) as it's really bad value for the late comer and we would normally have S.T.T's up and running by then.

Obviously at a freezeout entries are closed off at the start of the clock unless the late players stack is active and being blinded away.

Did you make last two tables or am I mixing you up with someone else?

Unfortunely you are mixing me up.

I see how it could be a advantage aswell, but should they not lose the blinds anyway, At least once per level = 750??

Don't get me wrong its a lot better than anything else in Limerick. :)

A player entering a re-buy tourneyduring the re-buy stage is entitled to the full starting stack.
It would be ridiculas otherwise for a player to join.

Mind you with some of the lunatics I've seen it would'nt put them off in the slightest.

The standard is shocking, but I have seen some new faces who can play. The chap that won last week seemed very solid indded. I've spoken to the Ellen street casino about running a proper cardroom but they are completely and utterly incompitent IMO. Just got my self a nice 8ft table at my apartment on Rutland street. Home games at Casino Nicky on the way soon. :)
