Ok Emo Kid, next post you make on a band should include more than "they are a good band" or I'll suspend you for a while.

Woeful band. Taking everything seriously with over-personal, wussy lyrics and a whiney singer is just cringeworthy to listen to.

They should really grow some balls.

Emo-kid, personally. Where is the talent in this song writing?

    "Lullaby"

    Woke up yesterday
    with you on my mind
so afraid of running out of time
so come around again and i'll show you what i mean
    And you can tell me
    exactly what you need
and we can talk all night (we can talk all night)
and i will sing you lullabies (i will sing you lullabies)
not in every arrow is pointed straight at your heart
sorry for the time i said too much
i was so afraid that you would fall out of touch
and we can talk all night (we could talk all night)
and i will sing you lullabies (i will sing you lullabies)
not every arrow is pointed straight at your heart
so come around again (so come around again)
and we can talk all night
so come around again, so come around again
and we can talk all night (and we can talk all night)
    i will sing you
    lullabies

I've seen some bad lyrics in my time but....

By the sounds of things, your balls have yet to even drop,
so you're in no position to talk about growing them.

Wow, "wussy" lyrics, what a great reason to call a band crap - because they are "wussies".

Maybe when you grow up a little you'll have the courage to be sensitive, and to appreciate emotionally sensitive lyrics.

Anyway, yeah, TBS, very good band, they do emo better than anyone else. I preferred them when they had the old vocalist guy though, doing the backing vox.

    Hilarious.

That's bollocks. Just because I don't listen to Taking Back Sunday and emo in general, doesn't mean I don't listen to emotional music (which has infact turned into lengthy debates about where the term "emo" has come from in the first place). You don't have to be whiney to be emotional. In fact, most bands out there are passionate and emotional about their work, yet groups like Taking Back Sunday just cross the line to the point of detestation.

That's such a load of BS. You've obviously never listened to a TBS album. If anyone's "whining", it's you: If a bands music doesn't really do anything for you, fair enough, but why the fúck would you say they 'need to grow some balls'. That's just foolish and immature.

You like to reverse things, don't you? That's not going to change my opinion of them.

Apologies for not being able to put it a nicer way... maybe TBS can help me.

Good band, if you're in a more mellow mood.

They were on Channel 4 a while back - live from Reading Festival. They did a couple of songs and a short interview.

    Pretty cool.

    Moonstomp.

There's emotional music, then there's emo music. Anyone else notice they're a couple more emotions than sad and angry? Any emo I've heard has been sad, angry, or sad and angry. What about happy? That's an emotion.

I love Taking Back Sunday. Went to their gig in January.. great...

And as far as judging their songs go, for the love of god don't pick Lullaby. That is one of their worst songs and I'm pretty sure it's just a b-side.

I can understand why some people wouldn't like them. First time I heard them I couldn't stand the lead singer's voice. Then they started to grow on me...

El Pr0n - there is music by emo bands that's happy. It may not sound particularly happy because the general perception of happy is bubblegum pop, but yeah, there's happy stuff.
You might, however, notice that negative emotions dominate a lot of music. When people are happy chances are they're too busy being happy to write a song about it. Then again, I don't write music, so I don't know what motivates people to write a particular emotion.

Hmm. They just came on on random. I have 3 of their songs. This one ain't bad. Not really my kind of thing. But chirst, what's with all the negative comments about them? They're by no means terrible. Could easily listen to an album, or watch them live without knowing the songs.
