Is this being relayed on anything other than 1W? I seem to remember a Hotbird feed of a previous one, and I really don't feel like moving my second decent dish 20 degrees further west anytime soon...

I only get a few chs on 1W. 80cm dish
If memory serves me you need nearly a 2m to get that ch here Nr Limerick

    (Beam points wrong way?).

Exellent reception of the dr.dish tp here in Sligo with a 1,1m triax motor dish. Even on a rainy day. ;)

Well you're nearly "in the North" :-)

It does drop of as you move south and /or west being a Scandinavian beam. I read that a 70cm dish works in some parts of NE Scotland....

A friend of mine in Kerry was able to pick up the first transmission on an 80cm dish in July. There were some occasional dropouts of signal, but that was because of problems at the uplink end in Bonn due to storms.

What is normally on that channel / transponder or is come to life just before time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,733 ✭✭✭Zaphod

IIRC that TP is normally blank, but a testcard should come on 30 mins before transmission.

OK I'm getting a great signal on my 80cm.
The transponder wasn't there earlier, at all.
I think the 2m dish channel I'm thinking of is on 5E, a montly Dutch ATV group ?

Some interesting stuff in the program, though presentation seemed a bit amaturish.

Still, how many Irish or UK presenters could do a 1.5 hr show in German?

The PVRs make the Sky+ offering look very tame.

The DVB reel box thing with its WiFi, ethernet, etc makes Microsoft Windows Media Centre concept look like a dead duck.

Who wants inconvenience of "Windows" and PC, no matter how well integrated with Sat / DVD compared to the products reviewed.

The "Golden Interstar" PVR was impressive too with recording on up 4 channels simultaniously, PIP amd mosiac view of entire transponder, never mind ability to have TWO sets of motorised dish to watch one satellite & record another.

The program is available on DVD from www.dxandy.de I think.

    www.drdish-tv.com is main web site.

I saw end in German and beginning in English. HAd to go out so I recorded it to watch later.

Running times seemed about 20minutes earlier than advertised.

I was trying to stream it last night but no joy. Do they only stream it simultaneously with satellite transmission?
