I applied for a grant, I am just wondering when I will hear if I qualified or not? Are grants really hard to get?

A lot really depends on your Local Authority in terms of when you get excepted. As to if they are hard to get- if you fit the criteria you get it- though you do seem to have to jump through hoops.

Then getting the cheques- AHHHH- they seem to arrive very late.

Maybe there should be some central agency to administer the grants rather than the Local Authorities.

Well I'm pretty sure I qualify for the full grant, I sent everything away on time and stuff
will i get any money in time for college? if so how much, and how much would i get a month then?

    Thanx!

I dunno about getting it in time, they can be late. But never fear, most banks (well BOI anyways, and AIB probably match them) will offer you an interest-free loan for the value of your grant, you just have to show them the documentation and sign some forms, so if you're a bit stuck for money for books, rent etc you can try that.

OP - If you're from a Dublin Local Authority prepare for delays. Fingal were a nightmare last year.
