    really?
the 2 problems i've had with orders (1 lost delivery and a cd version of a game delivered instead of the dvd version) have been resolved in a matter of days with great communication throughout.
that's 2 cock ups (the first most likely due to a light fingered postie) out of 60 orders...
what problems have you had with them?

I rang them on Wednesday re an order that hadn't arrived and they resent it without any form of hassle or interrogation.

I'd be curious to hear about your issues with Play.

Problem I has was they could not verify my credit card (never had a problem with anyone else) and they expected me to ring them in jersey (to do what I dont know) I emailed them and told the they could call me anytime but got no call and no reply. I'd never ask anyone to phone me from abroad if there was a problem.

I originally had the same problem, they need the address given to match the credit card details I think, living in an apartment block seems to cause problems.

I don't think that's poor customer service, they just have different procedures from other online stores. I have found them quick to resolve any problems I had with orders.

By saving on making phone calls, maybe they keep their costs lower, and are able to offer better value than others? Also, their primary market is the UK, and so the majority of their customers wouldn't have to make an international call to get through to them.

A couple of minutes on an international call is hardly going to break the bank. i cant understand peoples objection to providing some extra details when setting up an account with an online retailer, you enter your pin no bother in a physical store, so why not provide some extra info over the phone, they are only protecting your card and their product, seems fair enought to me?

Have to say I've used them a lot over the past few years and only ever had a problem twice where something didn't arrive. Rang them to report it and they resent the order without any hassle on both occasions :)

I had a problem a while back when I ordered the LotR trilogy boxset as a present for my sister. I opened it when it arrived and saw that The Two Towers DVD was badly scratched. I contacted them and they said to return the whole set. I needed it for a present the next day, so I emailed them, said I was returning the faulty DVD, and that I would be replacing it myself, as it was needed as a present, and that I wanted a 1/3 refund on the purchase price. They obliged no problem, and were very nice about it. After that, I've no complaints with them

there was no issue with the address and it is poor customer service, I am in business myself and I would never ask an overseas (or any)customer to phone me to resolve a credit card issue , especially if the issue was at my end. I would either ring them or solve the problem via email. They are hardly keeping costs lower by losing customers. Rule No. 1 customer is always right, Rule no2 when customer is wrong refer to rule no. 1

I have ordered the dvd's elsewhere with no problem whatsoever
