Short answer no. A BIOS is more-or-less written (adapted eally) for your brand/model of motherboard. You couldn't just slap an Asus BIOS onto another manufacturer's board, it would stop working altogether.

    What problems are you having?

well make sure it's one of these files http://support.asus.com/download/download_item.aspx?model=A8N-SLI&type=BIOS&SLanguage=en-us as for updating the bios, with my asus board, i installed a program off the motherboard driver disc that updates the bios from a file on the harddrive, even if you don't have that i'm sure you can use a usb key or cd

Can you not Flash the BIOS with Asus in the same way you can with Dell? ie: Download the new version of the BIOS (Flash executable), make sure battery and AC power are connected and then double click the application to launch it. No need for boot disks or any messy malarky.

this one first, then this one

use the asus bios update utility (if installed, should be) in c:/program files/asus
    to update the bios
