Hi all,

I live in an apartment block where external satellite dishes are forbidden. I believe it's possible to have an internal receiver seeing the satellite through a window. (We have no balcony.)

What should I be searching for on eBay or the satellite shops? I am living in Sweden but well within the footprint of the Astra Satellite which should allow me to use my Sky receiver if I can only get this internal receiver working.

It would mean a lot to have TV from home, even if my very goofd friends at Sky might not be so happy about it......

Thanks lads, I remember seeing that multimo dish on the site before and had been looking for it again. I have my doubts about it now though but if I got one cheap of course I would try it.

I emailed the shops listed on the sticky thread and almost all of them have been good enough to come back to me. Most have given me a flat "no chance" which at least is an answer.

One guy advised me I can point a 60cm transparent dish through a window which wouldn't block the light. Didn't tell him the the windows are double glazed AND in Sweden but it's worth the shot I guess! Maybe get a caravan kit to stand it up. The other half is going to love it.....

I have an 80cm lidl dish on a camping tripod, pointing through a doubleglazed window (BBC and news channels are viewable, but no ITV3 reception without opening the window).

The transparent dishes have less gain than the standard aluminium ones. So you can forget the 60cm. And I'd be doubtful of the 80cm as well, considering that you're behind double glazing. A 90cm solid dish would be the minimum I reckon.
