BBC/ITV Freesat System in '06.

    Saw this on BBC Ceefax, page 698 (their engineering page). BBC/ITV hope to launch sometime in 2006 a 'Freesat' system on satellite. This will include the BBC channels clear and unencrypted plus it seems ITV channels as well.

    Will this be the long awaited move by ITV to broadcast their regional variations in the clear? What will this do programme copyright etc if it goes ahead? I also suppose that it will broadcast from Astra 2D tightly focused on Britain, so us here in Ireland will pick it up on a standard size Sky digital dish as well?
