With the sad passing of the mighty Piggy from Voivod a few weeks ago I was reminded of the guitar he used for the last few years, the F4C

Dunno if I like this or not, but again, it's a big step away from traditional guitar design and I'd certainly like to compare it against a wooden design.

What the hell is wrong with you? That's not a guitar. That's some form of medieval torture device!

The lack of a headstock, IMO, makes Piggy (RIP) look stupid while he's playing.

It also features the coat hanger bar from the Roland synth guitar ;)

I only like guitars that were designed in the 1950s

Actually I'd never heard of that guitar before so thanks Doc. I think the idea of taking the strain off the neck and fretboard is a good one. The appearance of that particular axe does not float my boat however.

I'm sorry to say I had never heard of poor old Piggy (RIP) either :(

Lay the guitar flat on a table. Remove the strings and clean the neck with a paper towel. Don't use abrasive cleaners. Make sure not to pull on the neck when the strings are off, because it is attached only by the pickup wires.

It's very simple, but very clever, read through the site. Good idea. I like this (except aesthetically) :)

Hmm... it's an oddity. I honestly have to say I'm not mad on it, an aluminium fretboard doesn't sound very pleasing at all.

    YEH FECK IT LADS

Hehe. I agree, a wicked SGish headstock would make it look rather snappy. But I like the idea behind the geeetar.
