Hello, not sure if this is the right forum, but anywho.

Ive been thinking of setting up a media centre pc in our living room at home, building it is no problem, but the TV end is a little different and I'm not to sure of a few things.

The TV is a sony 29", with no DVI, or HD inputs, just your basic, scart, svideo, composite. Ive used my laptop before for watching xvid TV shows and there fine, but text in windows doesnt display great, what kind of rez should I run the PC at to have something that I could say browse the net on the TV, I know it will be nowhere near as good as a monitor, but Im still just toying with the idea right now.

    Cheers

whenever i want to read text on the computer i use the magnifier in the accessibility options. i think you'd be looking at 640x480 before you could read anything

    Hey Al,
If your using the TV you need to increase the text size under windows display. Also using a program to help you get the most out of using the TV is a good idea. I used a program called TV Tool, german I think, and it was great.
The problem is that TV's just don't display at a high enough res to be able to view it properly, it pretty much will always be a little fuzzy. The most your TV can display at is 640 x 480, which is the lowest most monitors will display.
