Considering the Logitech Z-5500 5.1...

I am really considering picking up a set of Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX, DTS, 5 Satellites and Subwoofer, 505 Watt

I have heard a lot of praise regarding these speakers, everything from the subwoofer being without a doubt the largest for a pc speaker set and the decoder being of excellent quality..

I have a few questions for anyone who already has them

    1. For connectivity and quality what would be the best way to connect them, via standard stereo plugs (i assume they have to accomodate older 5.1 soundcards) or Digital

I already have the DTT 5.1 2200's so i presume that the decoder for the z-5500's would also have the standard 3x 3.5 jacks (the green, black and orange) in the back of it,

As i only have a Soundblaster 5.1 i may worry about connectivity for these speakers

    2. do they come with a realistic amount of cable to run with
    3. I presume at least 2 of the (rear) speakers are wall mountable

    Thanks

I have the Z-680's which are the model before those. They're the exact same spec just a different appearance. I can't fault them, they're amazing. All of my speakers are wall mountable and the control centre comes with the three 3.5mm jacks alright. I would be surprised if you had any bother setting them up with your sound card at all. I've noticed no difference using the optical in or the 3 jacks regarding sound quality or anything so I don't think there is a need to worry about that either. One thing is that there isn't that much cable if you want to wire your room without the cables going straight across your floor so you will probably need to buy a good bit more. When the things come, make sure you're at home as the box is absolutely massive. I'd say go for it and goodluck with it man!

    Thanks,

the only difference between the two sets is the decoder, on paper they are basically the same
