Wiped my sata hard drive there aobut 2 weeks ago, hoping for a simple re install of windows but alas, and as usual, not the case.

When I boot up from my Windows CD it asks to pres F6 for controllers, (which I do, because me being me, baught a non compatible SATA Mobo, so I needed to invest in a sata controller.) Anyways I press that and it asks to enter the floppy disks with the drivers on it, so grand yea do that it detects them, and continues setting up the system for the windows install.

No here's where the problem starts, when it begins to start coping the files for windows, it comes up saying error, unable to copy file "the sata drivers" for the disk.. please retry.. I do, and I do again, but with no avail.

So, now im left with a perfect pc that cant do anything :D

I've tried sticking the hard drive into antother comuter with sata, and i installs perfectly but wont boot up again when it goes back into my pc.

My only choice that I can see now at the moment is to get an old 10 - 20 gb IDE hard drive (hopefully its a 7200pm one) and boot windows onto that and have windows just running of that?

My question on that is, will that greatly reduce the speed of the comuter?

sounds like maybe the floppy disk is defective, check floppy on another pc.
