Cash in Hand

A friend is mine is moving back to Ireland for a few months, no more than 6, basically to save some more cash so he can travel some more. He is looking to work cash in hand so he can save faster.

Experience-wise he has only worked in sales; can anyone suggest a good area to for him to look??
I was thinking bar-work, but the last time I worked cash in hand was, over 10 years ago picking spuds.

Most places dont do it as there are tax implications.

He should reconsider. In my opinion it's not worth it to work illegally.

Working for cash in hand is well, dodgy as ****.

In theory, the employer and the employee could be paying the correct taxes etc but usually, almost always actually, it's not the case.

I wouldn't do it, simply because 1) it's illegal and can get you into quite a bit of trouble, 2) you've no rights or protection as an employee and 3) if anything happens to you at work, an accident or whatever, you have no comeback and will have to foot the bill yourself. Which can be very expensive.

Personally, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot barge pole.
