Check some of the online shops in the Resources sticky.

Ebay. you can get elixirs for around 11 euro per pack if you buy 3 at a time from somewhere like america. I'll dig out a link for you tomorrow. I get them from an american seller for about 11/12 euro per pack with free shipping

Speaking of Strings!!!!! I never paid much attention to the make of strings I bought just the guage. However, I bought a set of Martin acoustic's last month and they are dead already! It never bothered me to be buying new strings but they have increased in price lately and I would like a string that lasts more then 1 month. The last electric strings I bought were the Slinky's (which I usually used to avoid because of the luminous packaging) and they seem OK.

What strings last the longest without oxidising?
Do different makes of strings really sound different?(excluding guage differences)
Does anybody actually clean their strings after they play?

New strings always sound different so its hard to know if the difference is due to a different make or just teh fact they are new.
Different brands of string do have different "feel" though in my opinion.
    I do clean mine (sometimes).
I wonder if Fret ease or Fast fret make any difference to how long strings last?

That is the joy of new strings. Your guitar sounds so much better. I love when they are about a day old and holding their tune.

I've used DR strings ( http://www.drstrings.com/ ) for over 10 years and I love 'em. They keep that 'new string brightness' a LOT longer than other strings I've used.
They even come in colors! Although I've never bought those.
I use them both on my basses and guitars.
