Will be applying for a few jobs in little island.
Looking for a small flat for myself near city centre, or douglas area, or wherever.
What are the chances of finding something this time of year?
    Cheers.

Most of the students should have settled on a place by now, so that shouldn't be a major factor. A search on Daft.ie should tell you pretty quickly if there's much available.

You could try Choices too, I know my mom has rented out a place through them, and sometimes it can be better to go through an agency: http://www.choices.ie/

[EDIT] and good luck with the job hunt! [/EDIT]

I would imagine that Jacobs Island (near Mahon Pt) would have some availability . You wouldn't really be competing with the students out around Douglas side anyways.

I had no trouble - I found a flat in a day and we've only been in it for two weeks. We let a city centre apartment through Barrett Cahill: http://www.barrettcahill.com/

PS: If you want to live in Rochestown, I looked at this house and it is really beautiful but we don't have a car so was totally impractical for us: http://www.barrettcahill.com/show_listing.asp?propID=199
