So what do you all think?

Graphically it doesn't look as sharp as Ridge Racer, but it still looks sweet.

Gameplay is brilliant. Nothing like Road Rage mode trying to smash cars up. One of the best psp games so far.

Burnout is a damn good game. Somewhere in my top 3 between tiger woods, winning eleven soccer and it.

Only played one race and the first thing that struck me was how mediocre the graphics are. My opinion may change but I also found that it doesnt feel like burnout... It isnt nearly as fast as previous games and you dont get that 'heart skipping a beat' feeling when you dodge traffic as in the other games.

I'll play some more, gather my thoughts and post again though :)

exactly ! but i think they lost that in burnout 3, with the new takedowns etc and being so faster

The graphics in RR are excelent, I don't know what you are expexting from a handheld.

Finally someone who agrees with me. In my opinion Burnout 2 was the highlight of the series. Give me a burnout 2 style game without the takedowns, aftertouch, silly radio station/dj or the overly flashy menus.

EA went a bit mad with it all when Burnout 2 sold so well.

Burnout 2 was the highlight of the series, indeed. The whole near miss was fabulous, now it doesnt even exist. The traffic doesnt seem to be the highpoint of the game at all, its all takedowns.
I posted about the demo of BurnOut3 when it came out, i wasnt satisfyed,
cant really see traffic on psp, just little red lights if traffic is ahead and white ones if its infront [opposite].

anyway takedown challenge yo, any car, any stage = my highest = 28.

I thought the cars looked a lot better than in Ridge Racers hmmm. And the gameplay in general, when your racing it looks every bit as good as the PS2 version, the graphics only show up in crash mode. Same great gameplay, same sense of speed, same great fun game, I'm enjoying it. Not exactly the 'hybrid' of past Burnout games I expected it to be, its basically Burnout 3 with some older tracks and modes tacked on. Which is fine by me.

Burnout did peek with the second edition on the ps2 but like all ea titles it must appeal to masses and they seem to think all games love modded cars (which can be cool, but if we are going to be honest most of them just look stupid) and we all have our car boots full of with a bid ass amp.
Back on track, the game is very good for a handheld. The game is better suited to a big screen cause esp when play crash, as i feel they are trying to put too much on the small screen. Graphically, its not the best title with wipeout coming head and shoulders above. When playing i thought it very much a ps1 look to it.
The gameplay is excellent and looks like there is a good life span.
I just think it justa case of our expectations growing so much and simply put, can you name a pre psp title that came close?

It doesn't look as smooth as ridge racer, but it does look good.

Anybody else notice the lag sometimes, like when your taking someone down, i'm not talking about the slow motion, just actual framerate drop.
