I think I saw one in Arnotts, although if they are on the Argos website they may also be available there.

    Check out vjhomefitness.com
Don't know if they have them, but they have lots of that type of stuff. They had a slam man before, which is like the thing your talking about, but with lights on the eyes and body, which you hit when they flash. I'd like one, it'd b a fun workout that'd build up your reaction speed. Think they were about 400 tho

    Hi Shinto,

I'm currently looking to get rid of a Slam Man I bought, barely ever used, but due to moving house, it has to go.

It's practically brand new, and has the gloves to match.
Don't know if you've ever seen one, but they have different settings, one of which you have to hit him hard enough to put the lights out.

I filled him up with 200Lbs of sand already, although there's plenty of space to add some more.

I was going to add it in the For Sale section next week, but if you want first dib, by all means, let me know.

    Attached a few pics anyway.

I have seen them in Workout World (on the quays in Dublin) JJB Sports, VJhomefitness and in the Argos catalogue. Have also seen tube shaped free standing punch bags in these shops. IIRC the price of all the free standing bags was around 200-250 quid. The "Slam Man" things are a lot dearer and I have heard bad reports about their durability.

Forgot to say, looking for in the region of 150 for the slam man.

I can't speak for the durability of it, as it is barely used, but I was led to believe he was a mean ass muther F***er.

    Hi posiedon,
I am interested in the Slam Man. What has the base been filled with - sand, water, a mixture of both? Do all the electronics work OK?

If you can answer the above questions and are located in Dublin or the midlands I can collect and will offer you 120 for it.

I filled it up with Sand I bought in Woodies DIY. You shouldn't fill it with water I read somewhere.

Everything is perfect. Like I said it is brand new. It has probably had about 1-2 hours use in it's lifetime from new.

I'm in Killiney, if you want to collect.

150 was a very good price for this, but seeing as it's such a quick sale, I'ld be happy to meet you in the middle - 135? Seriously you won't be disappointed.

I'm in the UK until Sunday night, but any time after that should suit me fine.

Hope you have a good boot or seats that go down, he's kinda awkward and pretty heavy.

OK, 135 it is. Will PM you to arrange more details. Thanks.

Hey Shinto if you're looking for something durable I'd go for a Bob. Not sure if you can get them here (you could try asking FightingIreland.com to price getting one as they're a new company and might be more willing), but they had one last year when we were in Philly assisting in training some Navy SEALS and it had the living **** knocked out of it for the entire week. I mean it was hit with hands, feet, sticks, alloy sword and knife trainers and even a steel asp and wasn't even marked. Really helps accuracy with weapon strikes due to its design also. And kinda satisfying to hit hard in a perverse sort of way :)

Blitz Sparring budy is the best value or century wavemaster BOB/BOB XL but thats seems over priced to me. Try www.bytomic.com or www.pad-up.com both ship to Ireland.

Personally I'd prefer a punch shaped manbag.
