Western Digital don't have a great rep to be honest.

AFAIK Teac don't make hard disks. They make decent enough gear though, that enclosure looks ok. Good price. Pity they don't say what disk is inside.

what are you talking about, when did this happen? for as long as I care to remember, WD always had good rep

    ps.
I would suggest it be a better choice to select an external enclosure and choose your own hdd rather than getting a predesigned 'setup'. at the very least you get to choose how much you have to pay to get the 'optimum' amount of gigs

Experience. After you've installed a few thousand you notice a pattern.

You'll find it hard to beat the price of that alu enclosure and 250GB disk. Even buying them seperately. it would be hard to beat that. I'd prefer to know what make of disk I'm buying. Though if its a backup disk then its less important as all the data is replicated somewhere else.
