    Howye.

Whats the main difference in the kinda cheap sights and the expensive sights? I have the Cartel K-Sight and it seems to do whatever a sight should do. However, since some sights reach as much as 300 yoyos I get the feeling I'm missing out on something by having a 30 quid sight. Whats the secret?

For indoors any sight is ok..
When you move outdoors you need a sight that you can easily adjust and will not lockup when it rain.

I had a Arten sight and in kilkenny this year ( which was raining all day) I was unable to unlock it so I could change it..
For this reason I bought a Sureloc Quest X for €275.
It has no locking screws, so to adjust it all you do is turn a nob.
The cheaper sights will also vibrate alot which can cause the pin or other parts to come loose.

Weight is another factor in the cost. I have the Cartel K sight as well and its not bad, but the Sureloc toxof has weighs absolutely nothing, and the likes of the Shibuya Dual-Click Carbon Extreme (or something like that) is mostly made from really, really light carbon and is even lighter - think it weighs bout 190g.

Secondly, as you know from the K Sight, it's not exactly the most accurate sight in the world. If you have to change the windage at 70m for example and then again at 30m, its difficult to get the very same setting the next day. With the more expensive sights these adjustments are finer, more accurate and repeatable. It matters when shooting 90 and 70m, and even 50m to some extent.

And what toxof said bout the locking and unlocking plays a big part too.
