Just saw on RTE's website that Darren Homan has been told it would be dangerous for him to play football again after he had an MRI scan following a back injury picked up in training this season. I alway liked Darren as a player, and he was my personal preferred partner for Whelo in the Dublin midfield. I wish him all the best for the future.

A great pity for Dublin football. He was certainly a player who showed more heart, passion and determination than many others.

I'm sure many will hope he is involved with the coaching or managerial background teams of the Dubs.

Yeah it's a pity, you could always rely on him to give it his all.

Heard him on the radio earlier, said it was a clash with Whelan that finished him. Sad to hear but part and parcel of the game

Yep, it was an accident in training that injured his back. He's had problems for a long time though.
