    Regedit missing Favorites:

I've just noticed the the Favorites menu is missing from Regedit on my work PC. It's also missing from my home PC as I noticed last night. It was there on both before so I'm guessing I've done something to make it dissappear. It seems to have reverted to the Windows98 style regedit in that it doesn't remember the last key you were in when it opens either, as XP regedit should.

Anyone any idea what I've done, or how to fix this? The version of regedit is the same on both PCs shown in the screanshots above.

I've also just noticed in the second screen shot is a key named "HKEY_DYN_DATA", which was aparantly a key associated with Windows 95/98. What the hell is that doing there? I can't access it or delete it either as it just says "Cannot access HKEY_DYN_DATA: Error while opening key".

    Strange

    Hi,

are you using some sort of external devices on both machines?
    Read about HKEY_DYN_DATA .
Maybe because this key is stored in RAM only your favorites have been removed.
Have a look at "msconfig --> startup" for entries.

    regards
