Jesus I dont know how many times Ive been called by a million difirent telecom companies, saying they will provide this and that.

But its gotten worse, its all scam companies now, trying to convince you they are Eircom rewarding you for 10 years of being with them and stuff.

Im just off the phone as I write this, some woman keeps saying "You get xxxx ammount of free calls, xxxxx ammount of free minutes.... this is a reward from eircom" I said "who is this?" , she says "Mew-Tel (thats how she pronounced it, dunno how its spelt)", i said "thats not part of Eircom" and she hung up.

So i called Eircom and apparently this crap is going on alot in the recent month.

Im gonna try and get a number for one of these "companies" and give em a little payback, hehe :P

Cold calling is now illegal in Ireland.
Seems odd they were trying to immitate Eircom.... are they scam artists looking for your bank details so they can transfer you a "loyalty bonus" or something?
Rule number one - never give out any personal details to any incoming number.
Always ring them if you need to (after ensure it checks out ok).

well, its more of a once off opt-out.
This will prevent the "millions or so" companies that have been phoning the OP.

or its eircom telling you you've got free calls under another fake comm service, then you use your free calls, only to discover they weren't free
