hi, i am fixing up a laptop for a friend of mine. its a HP Pavillion zt1230 Put a brand new 80 Disk in it yesterday. It refuses to too from a win2000 CD or a winXP cd saying NTLDR not found but will boot from a boot CD i made last year with Floppy emulation. If i boot with that then put in XP and try to install it, it gets a minute or two into it and saids End user license agreement (EULA) not found. windows setup will now close. this doesnt make any sense.

Sometimes in dos with it, ill try and reformat the C: and after presing "Y" to proceed with format it will simply freeze and sit there for hours doing nothing till i turn it off.

i even tried taking out the HD and putting it in another laptop to get the windows installation going then swopping it around but no luck.

    anyone got any ideas?
