Dunnes Stores in George's Street in Dublin are doing a 2-for-1 offer on 2L Ballygowan Water, only €1.40 for 4 litres.

I presume they are also doing it in all their other stores.

Lidl sell 2 litre bottles of spring water for 35c - half that price.

Tesco also sell 2 litres of "Still" water for 35c - I don't think this is strictly "spring water", as they'd surely call it so if it were. Come to think of it, I think Dunnes also do a 35c 2 litre variety.

Eh, the Dunnes deal is buy a 2L bottle of Ballygowan for €1.40 and get a second bottle free:

    Ballygowan 4L / 1.40 = 35c per Litre.

I'd go for Ballygowan before the own brand labels when they're at that price.

Its quite difficult to get a 2L bottle of water in Dublin CC without being massively over-charged. For instance, last week I bought a 2L bottle of Ballygowan in a small newsagents for €2. Big difference

So you'd happily pay twice the price for a product that is inherently the same? Mad stuff!

That said, the proce of branded spring water around town IS ridiculous - try €2.50 for 2l of some-unknown-brand of water at Heuston Station.

The tesco and dunnes 2L "still" water always taste like standard tap water to me. Lidl water is good though, but no stores in city centre though.

Each to their own I suppose :)

The Lidl German Mineral @ 60c for 2 litres is as nice as I've ever tasted
