How to use the windwaker?

Near start of the game at dragon roost island, the boat trying to tell me how to use it, i can get it, but dont get what you have to do with the thumbstick alongside the c-stick? doing my head in! and i cant explore until i show the damn boat i can play it! any help would be nice.

Equip it and move the c-stick to play it following the instructions for the song? Shouldn't be that hard. www.gamefaqs.com if you are desperately stuck.

instructions with the thumbstick, i dont get that part, doing my head in, i can work it fine, but when the stupid boat says i have to use the thumbstick to change rythym wtf?

Some tunes are more than three notes long. Tilting the control stick in certain directions (I forget which, specifically) allows you to play four notes or six notes, as long as you hold the control stick in that direction. That's all it is.

i only ever got stuck once in that game, it was when you complete dragon roost island and it shows you a cut scene with two grave stones at the back and to check them out well i skipped the cut scene and spent ages trying to figure out what to do )i almost restarted the game thinking there was something wrong with the disc i had tried everything) eventually i read what i had 2 do on gamefaqs and felf like a right idiot
