    I use an MT 2

and it is very good but I have tried an MXR distortion and I like those better

i think the metalzone sucks. in that price range i would go for a marshall jackhammer, or if you are willing to spend a little more.. http://www.thomann.de/thoiw6_mxr_double_shot_distortion_prodinfo.html

od-1 is very cheap and cheerful but it depends on a lot of things.
    amp/guitar etc..
    but it can sound awesome

I've never used an OD-1 but they're meant to be really great. Discontinued and quite old so worth grabbing as you'd have no trouble selling it on i'd imagine.

I use a MT-2 and it's quite a good pedal, lots of crunch but it can sound quite thin at times.

Like moonboy said it can depend on guitar amp.
The OD-1 would sound very good if you used it through a valve amp.
