A friend of mine is applying for a media related job and was wondering what exactly to put on her CV that would show competence in her field. Is putting her course director from college as a referee a good idea? Any tips, general ideas for layout of CV etc etc...???

"media related" is a bit vague to be honest.
What is the job and has she got experience in a similar role?
Plenty of general CV tips already on the stickys on the forum.

Course director is ok, but it's always best to have a former employer if possible.
