Yeah I was 17 startin 1st year right up the the January it can hold you back in some places, but if its' a student night specific to the college they'll let u in just you flash your student id.

Yeah it does unfortunatly :( maybe things have changed since I was in first year (2002) about student nights being strict on ID.. you get your ID card at registration..

ye ive registration tomorrow at 9.30am, and then orientation at 2pm. wot do i do for 4 and a half hours??!!

You'll probably be queueing at registration for a couple of hours lol.. you don't just walk in at 9.30am and register there and then.. other than that I'd say try talking to some people from your class at registration, maybe hang out with them at the snackery for a few hours or whatever.. you going to kevin st?

same position here , 17 too , had induction in Kevin Street today , I'm really gonna enjoy my course looks class it does .....

wouldnt say it'll be too bad , just get talkin to people normally as you would in school and you'll be grand :D

the place is full of clubs an societies etc.... so even go along to one of them .... gonna try get to the climbing or caving clubs ,

speaking of clubs , do you HAVE to go every week , just with work and all , I might be able to make it every second week or so ...

Alot of the society things should be grand if you're under 18 as they normally tend to happen as private parties in most venues, but if its an ENTS event, my experience is they're gonna be pretty strict on ideas at the venues (probably cause the ENTS events'll prob take place in large clubs where as lil soc shindig's take place in pubs etc.). But sure... go along for the craic, I'm sure you'll have a ball regardless. What are ya doing in Aungier St. by the by? Just went into 1st year Journalism on Wed... course seems class!
