sorry should have explained.Its a junior cert thing with Akon.Theres a lot of rumours going around about breathalyzers just wondering if anybody could verify them??

A licensee is responsible if people are drunk on their premises, even if they arrived drunk on the premises. Its possible.

No, I'd be 99% sure that it'll be fine but if you're worried, chew some gum before getting there and try act sober.

i seriously doubt it, the cost and delay the tests would cause wouldn't be worth it for them. they'll probably follow the age old rule of if you look or act drunk you aint gettin in or are about to be thrown out. its just a rumour, dont worry about it. good luck with the results.

You blow into a tube connected to either a bag or a machine. With the bag type the alcohol make the colour of a crystal change. I'm not sure how the machine works.

if its a ticket event the tickets must state the terms of entry
ie(they cannot say if you fail a breathalyzer test you cannot go in)
unless its stated on the tickets

same with clubs, a club cannot search you for weapon or drugs unless
they have a sign up stating customers will be searched on entry.

i know its never enforced but you could kick up a fuss and cause a scene,
you could probably get a TV crew to film it as there will be lots around town
just make sure your're not drunk if you are going to argue this.

I'm sure the ticket also says "Management reserve the right to refuse admission". This pretty much gives them carte blanche to refuse anyone they want.

Can you not buy disposable breathalyzers in Ireland? Those are VERY handy, we would buy a few before a nite out, and all the guys who where driving where given 1 before we got into the car .

ACTUALLY i said i wont be drinking, my friends are and i dont want the night to be ruined bcuz they cant get in.

No i doubt they will breathalyze at the event. There is too many people and it would slow things down considerably.

As all the others have pointed out, there wont be breathalyzers.
Each time its used, they'd have to use a new mouthpiece (for hygiene reasons), so that would increase costs and time.
The promoters are there to make money in the first place.
As someone else pointed out, if you look drunk / reek of booze, they wont let ya in.

EDIT:\did she expext them to breathalyze that ammount of people. i don't know the exact capacity of the point but i can bet its a fair few. They wont breathalyze.
