About to potentially spend a lot of money on dabs.com in order to save 60 quid over 900 and wondered are they reliable and also if something goes wrong do they not want to know or what?

Its a cpu, gfx card and a psu i'm ordering so if something goes wrong I'd like good things to happen when I contact them again or am I better off paying the extra 60 with komplett who i personally have had good dealings with??

Have used dabs before and the one thing I did have to return, didn't take long to sortout. The customer service is good.

I find overclockers.co.uk to be a great bunch to deal with.. Some people have a bad opinion (as they do for Dabs and even Komplett) but I have always been very impressed with.. They have never taken more than 2 working days to deliver my order, no matter what size it is..

Checked overclockers.co.uk and they just aint as cheap as dabs and their delivery is more expensive too - which is prob why you're impressed with the delivery times - but time is not a factor within reason - i've waited 4 years for a new machine - a few days won't kill me..

For any interested here is what i'm getting - already have an Abit AN8 mobo..

By getting the PSU, CPU and GFX card on dabs I save 60 euro...890 euro as opposed 950 on komplett..the 890 includes del while the komplett price doesn't because the other stuff is still going to cost the 20 quid for del..ie - i aint saving any del costs by not getting the PSU/CPU/GFX with komplett..

Nice looking system there. The graphics card will be CPU bound (just FYI).

..of my thing, if she was lucky?

I've had, and continue to have, a bad experience with Dabs. After a having to do a charge-back on my credit card (the only time, in all my online shopping experience.. in fact, ever.. that i've had to do so), having waited for 8 weeks for them to "follow up" a delivery (worth >2grand) that mysteriously went missing in GLS, Dublin... and despite GLS openly telling me it's gone missing, to report it to the shipper, Dabs failed to send any mail other than "we're looking into it" for the entire time.. in fact, they still haven't acknolwedged that it's gone missing, to the best of my knowledge. Nobody there reads. In fact, I'm not convinced humands are involved in the mail handling at all! You get script replies to queries you never asked in your original mail!

There are plenty other bad-experience Dabs stories on boards (use Google to search them, if search facility is still down here). So just weigh up the risk yourself and decide is it worth the saving. If you're talking 60 quid, I wouldn't have thought so, but then I'm biased.

Their email based support is pure crap. No doubt. I've got experience of this myself. I've heard good reports of their phone support though.

up till recently I would have recommended them but my latest experience means I'll be very reluctant to ever use them again. Their prices can be hard to resist though!

I have bought from Dabs a lot and never had a problem. I did need to contact them by phone on one occasion and found them very helpful. I have found that they can be cheaper than Komplett.

I've had no probs with them. Quick delivery and happy with what I got - I've never had to return anything though!

Its supposed to say "I'd give her one, if she was lucky" - Sort of an ironic statement our group of friends developed that was totally the opposite of what would be the case (ie - she'd give us one, if we were lucky).

Lord knows what the actual word for word translation is - thats just my best effort.

On topic though i did wonder how long it would take for some bad stories. I feel lucky though and reckon i'm going to chance it. Just 60 quid believe it or ot goes a long long way for me right now.
