Why does it say at the bottom of the page "All Times are GMT+1" when they are simply GMT

We're not on GMT, we're on IST, which is GMT + 1 because of DST which is a load of BS IMHO TBH.

While the time we use may now be calculated in a lab somewhere by an atom or something (and not a line in Greenwich), it's still commonly called GMT in the UK and Ireland at least, even when 'daylight saving' are in affect.

I thought everyone knew the time by counting the number of seconds since 1970?

is that still used for random numbers? Thought it was changed a while back.
(also thought it was miliseconds, but what do I know?)

    Sweet, sweet epoch.

For those that are intrested, time is all based on the second, which is defined as the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom.

.. and yes, I did lift most of that straight off wikipedia, sue me.

actually, please don't sue me. I take it all back. I even like your shoes. Really.
