I don't have any of these poker 'tools' that alot of you guys seems to have, especially the cash players.

I don't play cash games myself, but should I be investing in these products for Tourneys?

    If so which ones?

    Cheers

They are no good to you if you only play on Tribeca sites though, at least Poker tracker does not work with these sites anyway.

PokerTracker is the best $55 you will ever spend on poker.

Does anyone know if PokerAce works on PS tournament tables?? Cos I use GameTime+ and it doesn't work on them.

And I agree Poker Teacker is the best $55 you'll ever spend period. Although I got it free at www.pokerpromotions.net, by doing the BoDog bonus, all you need to do is play 100 raked hands at any level!!, unbelievably easy. you could do it in a couple of hours. Would you say that Poker_Brat1 referred you though, :D Cheers. Same goes to anyone else who doesn't have PokerTracker, I'm not involved with them or anything but I got my PokerTracker in about 2 or 3 days. i.e. I would vouch for them ;)

    Poker tracker is the shiznitz.

On an aside does anyone have a really good set of parameters for the autorate players function, as the one I am using now is a little simple and tends to over emphasize players skill level.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Is there anything that works on Tribeca??

Ste, Pokerace is free to download so theres no risk in trying it out.

If you want info on how to use PT, go to their forums, or you can also buy the poker tracker guide

downloaded it earlier and trying it out now, not sure if I prefer it to GameTime+ but I'll give it a chance

No autorate file will work for all situations.
You need to rate players differently depending on the game you are playing.
The values will be different for NL/Lim, 6/9/10 handed and possibly even at different buy-ins but you needn't be that precise initially.

can one of you tell me where i might be going wring.

i keep trying to set up the auto import feature to 'scan' tables in real time but it just keeps giving me an error and in the logfile says for example:

    "C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker\HandHistory\karlh72os\20050825\Table 36636 (6 max).txt : Unable to get the game level...$25 NL Texas Hold'em - Thursday, August 25, 17:22:45 EDT 2005"

is there something i'm missing in the setup? the path seems correct but the 'game level'!!!???

    thanks.

Have you got the latest patch for PT?
Party changed their hand history code a while back.
Also check that all the old files are moved to another folder.

On a similar note I seem to have issues every time I start PT in real time with PS. Apparently there are 311 files it wants to read but the directory is empty bar the 1 or 2 files of my current games! Anyone any ideas? It takes PT about 1/2 an hour to get through all these ghost files and it really slows down the PC.

I gave up using Autorate because it was affecting my concentration and read on players. I found that I was simplfying players too much eg say someone is rated as a fish then I was giving them zero respect ever which was costing me money. I prefer it now if I analyze their stats manually as it then is easier to recognise when they are playing a hand differently (ie they have a very strong hand)

ON the cant get table error, you definitely need to patch it to fix it or if for some reason you cant patch it you need to change the NL Texas Hold'em in your hand histories to read NL Hold'em and it will work then.

On the import window there's a field to enter a filepath to move the files that are already read (You also need to check a radio button to tell it to do this). This basically means that PT doesn't have to read them again every time you go in. Make sure it's set to some other directory. (I think this is something to do with my problem with PS but the filepath is set)

The reason i said this is that maybe PT is finding old files in your Party hand history folder. You probably could7should manually check this too to make sure there isn't a load of files there that aren't neccesary.

They work amazingly well for cash games online, I don't hear too many people using them exclusively for tournaments, although it is possible to import your STT and MTT reports from Party and affiliates for analysis into PT.
PPP/VC don't work with PT. Have a look at the website for which other sites support it.
