Maybe anyone on here in the ground fighting/grappling/bjj area can help me with this please.

If there was one instructional DVD on ground fighting/grappling/bjj that you would recommend for someone as a refence guide to learn about the basic technqniques what one DVD and by who would you recommend.

I am looking for something just to cover the basics, the terminology and something that shows me the techniques clearly and simple. ( not interested in live match ones, it must be instructional only)

    What would you recommend.

For basics, I'd recommend the Renzo Gracie/Craig Kukuk DVD. I have it, it covers all the basic positions, submissions, sweeps, etc..

For Gi. = as a starting point you could try Pedro Carvalho's tapes or Rodrigo Meideros Series of tapes.

No Gi and looking for fundementals = Matt Thorntons Functional JKD 2 , I found pretty good , if your not to hooked on the gi.

you can find rodrigo's tapes and more on http://www.islandmartialarts.com/

or matt thorntons on his SBG site http://www.straightblastgym.com

I might try the Gracie one, and also Matt Thorton no GI stuff.

good to have a look, see what they are going, and get vibe of it all.

tried some the other night for 1 hours someone showed me the buck & roll, and we worked at it and as well as dippin my toe into the whole ground and bjj thing, it was actually great fun!!! especially since we did some bare knuckle pretty hard koyushinkai karate sparring (no head shots) for a while before. man me legs are still aching!!!
