Can anyone reccommend a good (preferably freeware) http tunnel?

sorry for the dumb question, but what is HTTP tunnel? and what's it for?

I know it's something like VPN? to connect to your work pc or something, but not sure.

Looked into this for before, so as to exploit my college's uber bandwidth...

Turns out that a 'free service' only allows you '56k-esque' speeds, to get proper speeds you need to either suscribe to a monthly service or buy credits...

All money basically, i really only need it to allow p2p stuff through their proxy, so i deemed it too costly.

Come up with something different and i'd be very interested to know ;)

If you run a proxy on another machine, you can ssh tunnel into it and browse securely over ssh.

There were 2 different Tunnels that people used to use
in DCU but somehow the CSD (Computer Services Dept)
figured out how to block them.
