Behringer Mixer effects stopped working

    Hi

Not sure if this is the right forum Feylya Delete if not.

We have been using this Mixer Here

Recently the effects have stopped working when we power on the mixer.

The rest of the desk works fine but we use the effects on board for reverb and Delay etc..

Has anyboody got an idea on what could be causing this.

I am not sure if it is worth fixing this or buying a new mixer but it could be something simple.

Basically the effects display does not come on at all when we power on the mixer.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    It's fine on this forum.

Bad soldering on the board? Effects circuit blown? Either way, at €217 new it'd probably cost more to get it repaired than buy a new, unless it's still under warranty, but I'm guessing you didn't buy it here?

    Yeah..

Thats what I was thinking they seem to have come down in price a lot in the last few years probably easier to get a replacement.

    Cheers

I've been using the UB1002. It doesn't have effects but it has been playing up a lot.

People I have spoken to say that Beringher internals are notoriously dodgy.

I'm looking to switch to a Mackie. You should check out the DFX 12

It's probably not worth fixing alright. If it is just the effects that are broken but everything else is alright, you could sell it as is and just get a new one.

    Thanks Lads..

I have just been told that we have two other Powered Mixers lying around that we can use.

One of the lads was using one as a Bass Amp at home and the other was being used to rest some beer on.. Amazing what you find when you move all of the empty cans...

    ;)

They're not great but will do the job for the moment.

    Cheers

Tbh, trying to fix it yourself is unlikely to yield positive results. Too much going on with PCBs - soldering is difficult (especially without lifting the board trace while you're at it). The break is probably not visible either. I'd go with Feylya's suggestion.
