Looks like we might be getting the single cut PRS's back. Basically, that document says that no one in their right mind would confuse a PRS for a Gibson.

HAHAHAHA. Great! One for the not-as-big-guy!
    Serves Gibson right.

thats absolutely brilliant. The Prs truly is its own instrument and i would by no means consider it a copy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Indeed. It looks quite dissimilar. Bleh, the mention of this case has made me want to add a PRS to my to-do list... Damn you fey!

Am I the only one who thinks the PRS Singlecut is a damn ugly guitar design?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Yes :p I love the Tremonti shape.

    I like horns.

Wait a minute, that didn't sound right :p

I wondered what those things were on your forehead...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

It's pretty ugly, but the other PRS designs are gorgeous.

I do too. I dislike most PRS/church guitars.

    Boooom Booooom!!!

Seriously though, those guitars are ugly. Damn!

i really like the singlecut. Its like a really elegant gibson but yet its a totally different guitar. very well done.

nice one i love the single cut PRSisis bout time that got settled and righty so

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Fey, they are two damn ugly guitars. The shape is just not graceful, it's like a home made guitar shape, it's too boxy, too many almost straight lines. As for that spanner's name all over the 12th fret, I mean, FFS

    Damn ugly.

I must applaud this line however... Smackdown :p

In fairness, I think the PRS Singlecuts are fairly swish altogether. If I had a voucher for one of either the Gibson Les Paul, or the PRS Singlecut, I'd go for the Singlecut. Of course I still have my eyes on a Tokai for the time being. ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

The Tokai Singlecut? It's only a matter of time :p

Hehe, I need to stop buying guitars tbh. I've enough for what I want now really, any more would just be indulgence. Not that I'm against that, I'd love to indulge in a pile of guitars that I don't really need, but right now I've just not got the money for it. When I do though, ho ho! That'll be some shopping trip, won't it? ;)

That's just a classic case of denial, and you know it! :D

    That's the truth!!

I still have a hankering after an Olympic white strat that will only be solved in one way ;)

Seriously. Yeah, you do that :p

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Ok then. I will!

Actually, I really like the Tremonti. At least, the SE version of it anyway. Haven't tried the real one.

No, not really exciting my GAS Glands there Ancient1. If I was to get a Strat, it would be something like this. Love the natural finish with the black pick-guard. Even then it's fairly far down on the list, as I've still got an incling for that ENGL Fireball, and there's also the Petrucci 7 String with the Piezo, a Les Paul of some sort (Leaning towards the Tokai of course), maybe that Ibanez J Custom 7 String...

    ...look what you did!

Damn that lite ash strat is stupidly good value. Egads!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 197 ✭✭kennier

    Gaaaaahgggggggghh......white stratttttt!!!

Question: What possible use would I have for one when I already have a legacy? What if I break a string on the legacy and need to play? Mmmm sounds like a good enough reason for me :D

Mmm, candy apple red, black pickguard, HSS pickups, chrome floyd rose, maple neck. Oh yeah!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

I don't like the white bits, but that shade of green is not bad. It would go nicely with a rosewood fretboard.

(Jaysus, listen to me talk like a bitch - does the shade on my handbag match my shoes? :p )

Is it just me or do the coloured headstocks look manky?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,433 ✭✭✭Quattroste

That whole guitar is manky! I'd expect a wanker to be playing that.

You know something, I saw that very strat in town today, and it had a price tag of €795. Suddenly the thomann price seems extremely good value.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

I have played that Strat and, especially for the Thomann price, it's a wonderful instrument.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,117 ✭✭✭Eoin Madsen

Meh. I've been unimpressed with the cheaper Fenders tbh. For 500-800 euros I'm pretty sure they compromised something. Probably the wood.

My brother has a £230 Yamaha Pacifica with a wonderful natural finish, looks great. Plays okay. Sounds like complete sh*te though.
