Dcu Accomodation Or Trinity Hall

I am an erasmus student (french) who will be studying at trinity. But I don’t know what to do with that huge dilemna of mine : should i live at trinity hall ( i have already accepted the offer and pay the deposit), which seems great but far from the city center or at the DCU campus in IFSC which is well located but has some downsides (strict rules like no overnight guest ; i would be isolated from fellow tcd student).
In fact, the real pb is that the luar doesn’t work after 12h30, which is against my idea of going out .but i don’t want to spend too much money on taxis or nitelink tickets nearly every night.
So please help me with your advise.
Have you ever lived at trinity hall or at the DCU accomodation, and which one do you prefer ?
is there many erasmus people at the DCU accomodation?
how much cost monthly this accomodation with electricity and heating included?
is the area of the DCU secure at night?

Uhm ... Are you sure you're not confusing DCU campus with National College of Ireland at IFSC?

'Fraid not. You'd probably be better of contacting the NCoI directly. I'm sure they have a students union who might be able to give you information, or an accommodation officer.

Most of DCU's residences are in and around the college grounds. Don't know of anyone living in IFSC.

A word in for Trinity Hall... Its lovely, the rooms are great and the sitting room is nice and big so if you got that and you're going to Trinity I'd be happy. Theres a bus stop just outside the entrance, not sure about the LUAS, but at least you'll get to know loads of people staying around there.

The rooms and sitting area are a whole lot bigger than anything dcu has to offer!

The luas stops right down the street (5min walk) + there's a bus stop just outside the main enterance. (busses not very reliable though, 14b??)

The complex is in rathmines which means you can usually walk back from town with a group if you're short on cash... ;)

Security is very good and there's usually events on in the place during the week.

If you're lucky enough to get a place i think you should go for it :)

    Enjoy!

Is Trinity Hall shared between TCD and NCoI?
