Hi all, just back from a week in sunny (in fact very sunny and very hot) Lanzarote. I have given up beer so I decided to move onto Champagne Sangria for the duration. What a heavenly drink :) I imagine it is no more than sparkling wine and sprite with a bit of fresh fruit thown in but, if anyone has a recipe I would love it.
    Tks

Don't know the recipe, but that sounds yummy! Isn't sangria just loadsa white wine, orange and other juices? Maybe it's sparkling white wine with orange juice and whatever other juices you got lying around. Or to push the boat you could try it with sparkling rose!! Mmmm!

pureed strawberries, vodka, rum, brandy and triple sec with some juices like cranberry, oj, pineapple, lemonade (pretty much whatever kind of juices you feel like) then add the champagne and top with fresh fruit.

According to some dude on some website that Google spat out.

There are tons of different recipes for it but I think in its most basic form it's just champagne (or cava) mixed with fruit juices, usually orange or cranberry and fresh fruit chunks and mint leaves and/or cinnamon sticks.

I tried it for the first time on my hols this year and loved it. Was completely floored after one tiny glass though (and I'm no lightweight!). I thought there was more alcohol than just the champagne in it as it had a very strong taste and was very orangey. Supposedly it's not uncommon to put Cointreau (or numerous other licquers) in it as well.

Wow. I think I feel a drink of the week coming on.

    Sounds like fizzy pimms tbh.
