I have started studying for the final papers of the ACCA core papers.

I work in Monaghan and i was wondering if there is any other students, what study leave does your firm give.

At the moment i get 4 days study leave + 1 day for the exam. In total that's 12 study leave days plus 3 days for exams.

A friend of mine works in Dublin, she's getting 7 days + 1 exam day. I think thats fair considering it is the finals and the fact that it costs nearly 2500e for classes. I havent got that money to spend again.

Id be just interested to see what people are getting as the ACCA doesnt set any ground rules on study leave.

I should have done ACA, the feckers get the whole summer off.

You're looking at about 9 weeks here in my firm.

If you're gonna be stuck for time then take holidays.

Are you ACCA or ACA though. Nine weeks seems alot for the study leave i refer to. Thats forty five days. Alot more than the twelve i have on offer here at the moment.

That was my other plan was to take holidays to increase the number of days but am not sure if ill have enough, maybe a day or two really. I have taken three already and then one for Good Friday. Two put away for this christmas, this only days a day or two.

Do you know anyone you could ask that is ACCA and see what they are getting.

Would it be ruded to ring other firms and ask what they offer so i could bring it to my boos for his attention.

My firm does both, that 9 weeks is the 8 for study plus 1 week of exam for ACCA.

I would ask for more to be honest, thats very little considering its your finals.
The standard is to get 1 week per exam whether you're in industry/practice.

IMO, you're getting screwed over, majorly.

You should be going in with a shotgun man and doing more than raising the issue.

    Cheers lad.

That would certainly raise a few hairs on the back of the neck.

What stream are you doing at the moment.

Does it benifit your job? If it does, say that to your employer. Does the company pay for staff to do other courses? Compare them to your one, but point out that you're paying for your course yourself, and thus the company is getting a more qualified person @ no extra cost to themselves.

Some places are tight enough to call the days off paying for it.
