Very nicely done video, although with not as much impact as I would have expected... I can see a lot of people just going "meh, whatever..." after watching it.

Well that's not surprising. I expect that too, because alot of people are negligent idiots :)

I'd actually put it down to there not being a lot of actual content in the film. Sure, it highlights the somewhat liberal use of the word "trust", but it doesn't really address any of the issues, or even suggest alternatives.

A bit like the DR forum, actually...

    That's a tad unfair IMO.
The video raises the question of trusting or not to trust, but it doesn't explain why or why not.
I'm sure a lot of people trust big business to look after our best interests above their own... crazy as that might sound... but I think you have to cater to peoples ignorance and spell it out if you really want to get them interested.
Just look at the amount of people who still live on fast food, brainwashed by the slim, attractive people dancing around on the TV commercials... all the while wondering why they're so fat... do you make them read the in-depth surgeon generals report, or show them Super-size Me? ;)

Interesting, well made but sadly lacking in information. It could do an awful lot more to raise awareness. Let's face it, it's not techies that this is aimed at. I can see a lot of people very confused after watching it.

What is it referring to? What kind of trust are we talking about? etc.

I think it's a victory of style over substance, if I may use a horrible cliche. :)
