    I feel officially old now. I remember going to see Simon Phillips in Club M circa 1994 when Musicmaker brought him over.

    He had the biggest kit I've ever seen, double bass, 6 mounted toms, 3 floor toms, 8 octobans, gong drum and electronics. He uses new skins every show. Imagine being his drum-tech! He had a whole rack of effects, including one of those classic Akai samplers.

    I was in the upper level of ClubM looking right down over him, getting a birds-eye of him playing his monster kit.

    First time Ive seen this fella,
    ...heard his name lots , but thats about it,,,he reminds me veryyyy much of Tomas Langg's style of playing...veryy like him. good stuff,,not all that musical tho...although I suppose during a full clinic he'd throw some great musical stuff in there too good stuff.

    His double bass technique is one of his famous skills...
    heard someone say he can play double bass double strokes at a tempo of 220 or something like that...
