Warpcon is rolling around again soon :)

The dates are the 27th to the 29th of January.

Details are available on the recently updated Warpcon website. I promise that now that I've gotten my grubby little mitts on the ftp passwords that it will be updated regularily and I'll keep you guys informed as best I can.

The booking forms will be up as soon as we can get definite prices off the B&Bs and Hostels.

Information on games will be up as soon as we get definite information on what will be running.

There may be an announcement of a second very special guest on the website at the end of this month or early in October.

If anyone on here wants to write a larp or rpg scenario for the convention just PM me and I'll pass on the information etc or they can use the email addresses on the website (I'll be updating the contacts page again soon).

If anyone has any questions, post them here, I'll do my best to answer them.

    -Pádraig, Warpcon XVI PRO/Publications

(Any chance of this being made a sticky?) no :p

Question: Is it before or after UCC's Rag Week? Last time it was before, and the bars had run out of Beamish Red to get a new order in for the next week's festivities. The Galway crew were gutted. Really. You should have seen our faces. :)

I think it's after rag week this year :)

The booking form is now up btw with this year's accom prices:

    B&B:

Single room 59 euro per person per night

Double/Twin room 44 euro per person per night

    Hostel:

17 euro per person per night.

The Con entry prices are not increasing this year. Entry will be 15 euro for the weekend standard ticket (con entry, games must be paid for). Gold Tickets (Standard + 4 games) is 20 euro and the Platinum ticket (Gold + t-shirt) is 25 euro. Only standard tickets will be available on the door of the convention.

The closing date for booking forms is the 6th of January.

This might be of interest to people...

We'll have two special guests this year.

The ever popular John Kovalic and a little known personage Steve Jackson. :)

There's more to come. It's no more than usual for the convention tbh. There was 6 or 8 more a few years back iirc.

    Final call...

I look forward to seeing people on Friday. If any of you are in Cork earlier, we are having a launch party on Thursday. Pm me for details, I'll pass them on as soon as we've settled on a pub for the evening! :)

    Just back in Galway.

Despite the crushing revelation that Beamish Red was apparently taken off the market entirely, I had a truly excellent time, and so did the rest of us. Best Warpcon in a few years, tbh. Many profuse thanks to the committee, splendid job. And I found Trap Door on DVD. Truly, this is a find to rival the Invader Zim collector's boxed set.

As a continuation of my attempt to summarise last year's Warpcon in haiku form, I am working with some people to summarise this year's expedition in the form of Chaucer-esque poetry. Expect the results to be vomited forth here at a later date.

Once again, thanks for a great weekend.
