    Hey,

I just got my new Samsung HDD and plugged it in but Windows (XP Home SP2) isnt recognising it. Do I need to format it for Windows to recognise the new HDD? Its an internal one.

If I do, how do I go about formating (never done it before)!

    Thanks.

Assuming you've set the jumpers on the existing drive to master and the new one to slave (assuming that's what you want) it's just a matter of going into Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management. You'll see your disc listed there as unallocated space, right click to get the option to make partitions and format.

You might need to initialize the disk before partitioning and format, you do this by right clicking on the new disk in Disk Manager.

    Worked perfect. Thanks!
