Getting the Poker Channel?

I rang NTL and they told me that they dont provide the Poker Channel. The only way you seem to be able to get this channel is with Sky. The only problem with Sky is, you pay an extra licence for each telly to have its own box, so that different TV's can watch different station at the same time.

Does anyone know away around this?

Or does anyone have the Poker channel on NTL?

    he drinks a whiskey drink
    he drinks a lager drink!!

dont get NTL because its rubbish compared to sky. i have sky+ which means for €15 extra per month a seperate room has the same package(able to watch different programmes in different rooms and pause live tv etc). now if you dont want to get sky+ but want sky in one or more of the rooms or bedrooms just buy the wireless recievers you can get on powercity or dixons. only disadvantage is that everyone in seperate rooms have to watch the same thing 'booze britain' might not be to everyones liking also reception is not first generation. if you get sky just do away with communal arial as theres only ch4 and itv that you are not able to get on sky but i hear this is changing soon anyway.

I'll have to sing that song for you, but you might turn the telly off.

Will have loads of whiskey before i go on, act the real PADDY!

Rounders, they told me I would have to buy an extra box for the other telly, this would also increase my subscription to NTL currently by double. Seems a lot of money for TV.

NTL is currently 22.50 per month for the normal stations on both tellys.
Sky is going to be 45.00 for an extra 200 stations for both telly's, plus the €89 box and connection fee of 50 for that telly.

    Seems a lot of money.

i reckon you should do away with NTL like i did and change solely to sky paying just one subscription not two. cant remember all the ins and outs but it worked out very well for me. i suggest you ring sky to discuss options. as i recall sky didnt charge a connection fee for installation but reps in shops can from these stalls you see so dont go near them just ring sky and axe their advice. the sky+ promo still going on is the one which i availed of.

I think your right Rounders, I've had no problems with NTL, but I would like the extra stations and the option to watch fights or football etc, plus the Ryder cup next year.

I already rang sky and there making a good offer, its just a lot of money for TV, that I dont really want to watch the much off.

    Anyway, thanks.

Sky is much much better value and if its poker your after its on at least six different channels each night from about 10 on. Poker channel, poker zone, eurosport(EPT), home+leisure etc. etc.

the poker godfather is the best programme on the pokerchannel by a mile. a pro comes around to the house of a different avid online player each week and they play an online tournament together. the pro trys to explain the merits of not playing ace rag. the bloke whos house it is is acting like he see's his point and its all coming together and in the end he says he's learnt a lot but you just know he will be calling all in bets with ace high when he goes!.
