An old piece of mine. Not the most technically excellent piece of writing, but, emotive enough, I feel. Criticism welcome.

    Snarl

    It's a face; an expression.
Repulsed at your demo of a
    Hideous progression.

    A cerebral shudder at you
    Primeval gutter-dwellers.
    All in good time, I'll
    See you all rot...

...All in good time, I'll be due.

    You're the crystal
    Ball and I'm the Muse.
    An abomination, wretch'd,
    From a lifetime of abuse.

    I hate you; for
    Your reflective surface.
    I hate you for
    The way you degrade us.

    And
    Your existence violates me.
...What a nice ride on the bus.

    The undead and the inbred.
    All around;
    Theres no escape.
Somewhere between a snarl and gag,
    I turn my head away.

    The infected, the afflicted,
    They wear down
    My defense.
I crawl out from the sewers,
    With an inward view
    On repugnance.

    A consternation comes,
    ...And passes.
I am why I squirm among the
    Crass, sweaty masses.

Exhumation of an old thread I know, but I really liked this piece.

    A consternation comes,
    ...And passes.
I am why I squirm among the
    Crass, sweaty masses.

This stanza in particular struck a chord with me.

Do you come from a musical background? I get the feeling that these are more lyrics than poetry.
