Why not go all-in, I normally get a caller(niacla was calling everything), and then i make them pay for what ever their drawing on. If he has AA fair play to them. Actual i was expecting AA.

you might have been pleased with yourself winning the pot there but the truth is you left a lot behind. i remember a lot of similar plays in the mayfair when certain guys liked going 'all in with the nuts' and everyone folds and they were delighted with themselves but little did they realise they could have won much more.
i think the first hand influenced you too much in the play you made. that said im not saying your play there was terrible as you did win the pot after all which is the main thing but its not the way i would have liked to play it especially being a rainbow flop.

Heh heh, I remember many months ago in the Fitz (probably the 50+50 Scalps game), Joe O'N and a random beginner were involved in a pot that was raised by one or the other pre-flop, the flop came down AAx (no flush or straight draws), Joe was first to act and made a small raise, the other guy immediately came straight back over the top all-in without trying to conceal his enthusiasm. It was obvious to all that he had an ace so Joe folded and showed his jacks or queens or whatever, whereupon the beginner immediately flipped over not one, but both remaining aces! Worst played quads EVER, there was zero chance Joe was going to call that all-in, particularly after the way the beginner shoveled the chips in. Still, he was happy as Larry taking down that pot.

    lol thats a good one.
the strange thing is they seem to be very pleased to have just won the pot, their eyes still rolling over.

I dont see a comparison to my hand above. On the flop its not 100% I have the nuts. I do feel im well ahead put there are draws on the board, unlikely?.

Nah, just replying to rounders' post, bit o' thread hijacking I think!

Going all-in on that flop was a mistake, unless you were trying to induce someone with Ax to go with you. Which you weren't and which wouldn't have been the greatest move anyway unless you were fairly sure they would follow you. Yeah you could have been outdrawn but that's poker, you should have gotten more out of that than you did by making the right-sized bet on the flop to bring one or both opponents along to the turn.
