    Hey,
I'm sure people are sick to death of these kinda threads but I've already tried the ol' google/amazon route to no avail. Anyhoo there's an apparently wonderful artiste who released his debut album recently. There was a review of it in the Sunday Times' Culture section about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Apparently he sounds a lot like Thom Yorke of Radiohead fame, is French (if I remember correctly) and one track features a guest appearance from some guy from Gorky's Zygotic Mynki or whatever it is (apologies to die-hard fans). Anyone any idea? Thanks.

possibly Syd Matters "Someday we will see obstacles"
    http://www.sydmatters.com/

its the only thing mentioned on the gorkys website (gorkys are cool btw - sadly they seem to be taking an indefinite break, probably due to lack of success).

That's the one - thanks. It'll probably cost me in excess of 625 euro in HMV though as it's relatively obscure.

Well I'd never heard of them until I read Syd Matters' album's review - justifying your observation of their lack of success. Whom do they sound like?
