I have to say it looks a great game to play, I saw it on the extras on the 2004 WSOP DVD. I did not realise it was such a huge part of the WSOP.

Anyone here have experience playing lowball? Its a game I will be playing the next night I get together with mates!! It will be something different to the texas holdem, which sometimes can be a bummer if you get knocked out early in a home game!

i've tried it a few times at home games and i like it too (plain lowball that is - not sure about the Kansas City Lowball).

i have no idea of any strategies other than using common sense. played 2 lowball variations:
razz - like 7 card stud where A2345 is the best (straights / flushes don't count)
2 - 7 draw - like your regular 5 card draw where best hand is 23457 (straights / flushes do count).

With the five card in lowball, do you just draw the same as normal, ie 1, 2 or 3 cards? i presume lowball is the same as kansas city lowball, they just gave it a place name, the same as in (texas) holdem.
ya i reckon i will play the 5 card draw version, the 7 card, razz, lowball gets a bit more complicated id say.

    correct!

then you have 2-7 Triple Draw which, as the name suggests, has 3 draws. everyone gets their cards, then bets, then draws, then bets etc
