Hello, first time poster, long time reader blah-de-blah.

Anyhoo, just wondering if anyone has any idea where one can purchase those corsage thingys (in the Dublin area) you're supposed to present the lady with. Also, what are the approximate prices ye paid? Mo thanks

I'd imagine any flower shop would have them... I've never purchased one though so I'm not 100% on that.

Don't know about Dublin but down the country in the same shop but different branches the one worn on the wrist cost E15.00 (Kilkenny) and E9.50 (Waterford). Most flower shops will do them for you. Find out what shade of colour dress she is wearing and the shop should be able to steer you right as to the colour flower to get. Get the one for the wrist rather than the corsage worn pinned to the dress - some dresses will made from material that will mark and tear easily and also it would obscure the detail of the bodice of the dress and a lot of work will have gone into picking it. ;) Don't forget a decent box of chocs for her mother, NOT CADBURYS. Go for Butlers or something similar.

    Most of all have fun.

Any of those blacktie places will sell you one.

Edit: just remembered that they have to order them for you, so they won't have em for a few weeks. So no real point in bothering like.

no, u go to a flower shop to get them , definately.
i think the ones for the wrist are more popular now than the ones u pin on the dress.
ask the girl what colour she would like,is usually red/white.
it should cost about €10-15, u might have to order it the day before.

ps. dont forget the chocolates for her mother!

go in to a flower shop and ask for one. they should ask you for the colour of her dress and maybe if shes wearing silver or gold jewellery. I got one not even a month ago but i cant for the life of me remember how much i paid for it

Thanks, methinks 'tis sorted now, just gota collect it - It cost me 25 euro for what is essentially a flower watch though.

Yeah I don't think I'm gonna bother with the ol' chocolates for the mother - it seems like a bit of a weird thing to do no?

well if you dont like the idea of giving her mother chocolates then get her flowers, you cant really go up there with your hands hanging to you! My mother loved them the other day anyway, so brownie points earned if you get her something :)

Stuff for the mother? Why not buy a cow and some goats for the family while you're at it? o_O

Why are people so into pointless gimmicks like corsages?

Well I only got my one stuff sorted last week and mine's in a few days - all you've gotta do is turn up to a blacktie or whatever a week or so in advance and it shouldn't be a problem. 'Twill cost ya though. The entire process really is silly though - I'm not gonna justify the "pointless gimmicks" of corsages etc. but I just don't understand the ol' chocolates for her mother stuff.
